Why the neck lift works

Why the neck lift worksWe know what you’re going though: you take care of yourself. You have a healthy diet, and you stick to it. You’re no stranger to the gym. You look at yourself in the mirror, and see someone you like.

But there’s one part of your body that no dieting or exercising can help – your neck. And you don’t like what you see. And you don’t know what to do about it.

There’s no getting round it: the neck area is the first place that betrays the signs of maturation. And it doesn’t matter what you eat, or how intense you are in the gym, or what expensive goop you rub into it – having chicken-neck is an undeniable sign of getting older.

However, what age is taking away aesthetic procedures can put back: you may know it as the neck lift. We call it platysmaplasty. Whatever you call it, it can take years off your neck area, and Milton Keynes neck lift surgeon Mr Sudip J Ghosh is an expert in the field.

What exactly is a neck lift?

The typical platysmaplasty procedure involves the tightening of the muscles in the neck, followed by the removal of any excess skin. Performed under general anaesthetic, the procedure involves small incisions made just behind the ears (in order to access the muscles).

Any excess fat along the neck or jawline can be removed with minor liposuction. The result? A smooth, taut and more youthful appearance.

Is it painful?

While there is a degree of invasive surgery involved, discomfort is kept at an absolute minimum. There will be bruising and swelling afterwards, and most clients return to work after ten days, but our previous clients feel that it’s all worth it when they achieve the results they’ve desired for years.
