Why getting Meghan’s nose may be harder than you think

Move over, Kim K – there’s a new cosmetic surgery icon in town, and the most desired target area for treatment isn’t the butt anymore. According to the aesthetic procedure community Stateside, the new most desired celebrity body part is Meghan Markle’s nose – and it’s been that way long before her engagement to Prince Harry was announced.

“Patients started to coming to see me about six months ago requesting Meghan Markle’s nose,” New York cosmetic surgeon Dr Stephen T.Greenberg told E! News early last month. “As things between her and Prince Harry started to heat up, attention definitely followed. Today,  she is probably one of the top—if not the No. 1—request I get. ”

Why Meghan, and why her nose?

The first part of the question is obvious: she’s suddenly become the most reported-on woman in the world of late, and the general opinion of her is overwhelmingly positive. And the royal effect is as strong as ever – when the-then Lady Diana Spencer shot to prominence; it was her hairstyle that was imitated by many, as with Kate Middleton earlier this decade.

As for the second part of the question, that’s pretty understandable too. “Overall, her nose balances nicely with the rest of her facial features,” claimed Dr David Cangello, another New York-based rhinoplasty expert. Although Meghan’s nose wouldn’t be classified as cosmetically ‘perfect’, what with the slight hump that reveals itself in profile, it only enhances the girl-next-door image she’s chiselled out. “Many patients seek nasal proportions similar to Meghan’s when describing their ideal nose during consultation,” said Dr Cangello.

Noses don’t come off the peg

However, it goes without saying that the perfect reproduction of a celebrity’s nose isn’t always possible, or even desirable.  For starters, what looks good on one person may not have the same effect on someone else, and the best way to imitate Meghan’s look is to create a nose that balances out your face, whatever that entails.
