If you’re starting to feel the onset of ageing, or feel it’s time to restore a touch of youthful vitality to your face, you might be thinking about doing something about it. You’ve already heard about Botox, which is a great way to fend off wrinkles and lines without breaking the bank. But what if you want something that lasts longer and makes a contribution to restoring volume to your face? Maybe you should consider the benefits that dermal fillers can offer.
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are a supplement of Hyaluronic Acid – a natural additive that the body routinely produces in order to self-regulate your skin and keep it moisturised. We need to artificially boost this as we get older, because our natural supplies gradually diminish – so a dermal filler procedure is a simple ‘topping up’ of Hydraulic Acid.
What does the treatment involve?
A dermal filler procedure consists of a consultation session, where clients express their desired results, followed by a course of injections. There may be slight bruising and swelling immediately afterwards, but they can be easily hidden with make-up.
How long do the results last?
While Botox targets the lines in a client’s face caused by facial expressions, the duration of results lasts from three to six months. Dermal fillers have less of a job to do and represent more of a gradual treatment – meaning the results will last for up to 18 months, and in some cases, as long as two years.
