There is a rising demand for body surgery and there is a surgical procedure for every part of the body, from abdominoplasty, arm lifts and tightening, thigh lifts, liposuction and body lifts, a new cosmetic surgery procedure that is almost a necessity after massive weight loss from gastric bypass surgery.
Abdominoplasty/Mini Abdominoplasty; This is a procedure used to remove excess lower abdominal skin and fat and to contour the abdomen. The procedure is often combined with tightening of the abdominal muscle sheath and liposuction. The procedure involves a general anaesthetic and a one to two night hospital stay.
Arm Lifts and Thigh Lifts; These procedures are usually required after marked weight loss. They involve the removal of excess skin and fat from the arms and thighs respectively. The procedure often involves liposuction as an adjunct and involves a two to three night hospital stay.
Liposuction and Liposculpture; This involves suction of fat to contour various areas of the body. It is useful as a technique to improve body shape, however, it is not useful as a weight reduction modality. Liposculpture can be performed in various areas of the body.
