Laser skin resurfacing is an effective and easy course of treatments which uses state-of-the-art technology to reset your facial skin surface by removing the outer layer of your complexion. This goes a long way towards eliminating a welter of imperfections, such as fine lines around the eyes or mouth, acne scars, blotches, chicken pox scars and sun-damaged skin.
The way we do this is simple: we make use of a massively precise light beam which measures a tenth of the diameter of a hair follicle. When we apply it to the facial area, it penetrates to the deeper levels of the skin, stimulating the production of younger, smoother skin.
The most painless way to reset your complexion
The great thing about this procedure is that unlike other treatments of its kind, laser skin resurfacing doesn’t have the usual side-effects associated with dermal treatment, such as discomfort, bleeding and bruising.
The procedure begins application of a topical numbing cream, after which you can kick back and relax, while the cream does its work. When you’re ready to do, we spend between 45 minutes and an hour and let the light beam do its job. The number of treatments you’ll require depends on the condition of your skin: sun damage and brown spots usually take four treatments, and acne scarring removal takes an average of five treatments. The treatments will be spaced at intervals between three and six weeks apart.
Are there side-effects to laser skin resurfacing?
Healing from laser skin resurfacing takes up to a week – or at least, you won’t be able to use make-up for that amount of time. You may feel a slight prickly heat sensation at the end of each procedure, but this soon passes.
