• What qualifications does Mr Ghosh have?

Mr Ghosh is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgeon with a full time NHS practice and busy private practice. He is on the Specialist Register as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in England, a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, a member of the British Burns Association and the British Medical Association. He is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Stoke Mandeville Hospital NHS Trust and Milton Keynes General Hospital.

  • How experienced is Mr Ghosh?

Mr Ghosh graduated in 1987. He has been actively practicing as a plastic surgeon since 1991.

  • How do I know if plastic surgery is right for me?

It is very important for you to examine the reasons for undergoing plastic surgery as it is unlikely to resolve any life issues you may have. Having surgery to please someone else is not the basis from which to make this decision. Plastic surgery will certainly boost your confidence and self-esteem but you do need to be realistic about your expectations. Mr Ghosh will advise you as to what can be achieved at your consultation.

  • Do I need to consult my GP before going ahead with my procedure?

No, but you are strongly advised to do so. It is not necessary to obtain a referral from your GP, however the General Medical Council advises that your GP should be kept informed of ALL medical treatments that you undergo.

  • Is the initial consultation with the surgeon or with an advisor?

All consultations are with Mr Ghosh. On arrival at the clinic you will be asked to complete a Registration Form and Medical Questionnaire in order for Mr Ghosh to know your social and past medical history. During your consultation you will be given the opportunity to discuss at length your requirements and Mr Ghosh will then go through the stages of the surgical procedure you are interested in. Mr Ghosh will also carry out an examination at your consultation.

  • What happens following my consultation?

You will be provided with ample written literature covering all aspects of your surgery/treatment together with a quote following your initial consultation with Mr Ghosh. This will clarify the points raised during your consultation enabling you to make a fully informed decision, having understood the nature of your surgery and the risks and complications associated with it, prior to booking your surgery.

  • Does the surgeon offer digital imaging so I can see what the end result of my cosmetic surgery will look like?

No. Mr Ghosh does not believe that digital imaging gives realistic views towards surgical results.

  • Can I ask the surgeon questions at the consultation?

Ask Mr Ghosh all the questions you want – it is always best to get all the information you need about the procedure and recovery time. Although you can always return for a further consultation if you forget anything. We recommend that you write a list of questions and bring these along to your consultation, as many patients leave their consultation having forgotten to ask these specific questions.

  • What happens after the consultation?

After consultation you will be provided with a quote for your proposed surgery and any further information relevant to your surgery.

  • How do I book a date for my consultation?

Please call Cathy Young, my Private Secretary, who will be happy to arrange this for you on 0845 304 7083 or 07518914475.
